PARALLEL STRUCTURE

Parallel Structure a adalah sebuah keseimbangan di antara dua atau lebih elemen yang memiliki fungsi yang sama. Elemen kalimat yang sama tersebut bisa berupa kata (word), frasa (phrase), ataupun klausa (clause). Tehnik Parallelism digunakan dalam bahasa Inggris untuk memperjelas, mengefektifkan, dan menyelaraskan kalimat.

COORDINATE CONJUNCTION

Kata penghubung yang terkoordinasi adalah kata yang menghubungkan kata, frasa, atau kalimat. Ketika konjungsi koordinasi bergabung bersama dua kalimat, kalimat yang dihasilkan disebut kalimat majemuk. Ada tujuh konjungsi koordinasi: untuk, dan, tidak, tetapi, atau, belum, dan seterusnya.

CORRELATIVE CONJUNCTION

Konjungsi korelatif adalah jenis konjungsi yang berfungsi berpasangan, dengan kedua kata bekerja bersama untuk menyeimbangkan kata, frasa, atau klausa. Pasangan konjungsi ini "berkorelasi" bersama.

Kesimpulannya adalah pada berita ini di informasikan akan diakan lomba menulis puisi special tentang perayaan hari ini yaitu hari "Earth Day'' atau hari bumi sedunia. Ada juga seni puisi Jepang yang biasa juga disebut puisi haiku. Cara ikut tantangan ini mudah yaitu dengan menulis puisi pendek yang hanya terdiri dari tiga baris puisi saja. Langkah pertamanya pilih salah satu halaman dari koran yang terdapat pada hari ini (Earth Day) cari halaman yang terdapat banyak kata, dan pilih sebelas kata dari halaman tersebut. Baris pertama terdiri dari dari tiga kata, dan baris ketiga juga terdiri dari tiga kata, sedangkan baris tengah /kedua terdiri dari lima kata. Puisinya tidak harus lengkap tapi sebaliknya, puisinya terdiri dari kumpulan kata benda dan kata sifat deskriptif yang tidak terstruktur. Dan bagian terpenting dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk kesenangan semata dalam rangka merayakan hari Bumi.

ELECTIONS DAY

My name is Reza Mananda, I am 18 years old now so I can participate this year, on Wednesday,17 April 2019 yesterday a simultaneous election was held in the country of Indonesia, elections were held once every five years, starting from the presidential election and the election of legislators. there are 2 candidates for president and vice president, candidate number 01, Pak Joko Widodo and Pak Ma'ruf Amin, candidate number 02 pak Prabowo Subianto and Mr. Sandiaga uno.This honestly makes me confused to choose which, both of them have vision and a good mission to advance this country of Indonesia.

This time the presidential election was my first time, I made an election in my village located in the village of Sungai Duri, Kec. Sungai Raya, Kab. Bengkayang. I made a vote at a TPS near my house. When the election was very crowded the voting came neatly according to the rules, about 30 minutes I waited for my turn. I went to the TPS with my mother around 10 am and my father left first because he was witnessing one of the legislative candidates there, after wait for a long time my turn arrived. according to me the vote didn't take long, but the old one was when folding the paper because the paper was very large. And when I finished voting there was a ridiculous event and I was embarrassed, of the many papers punched I thought the colors were different, there were five boxes of President-Vice President, DPR RI, DPD RI, provincial DPRD, and district / city DPRD with colors above the different boxes, ranging from gray, red, blue, green, and yellow.

so I put the paper into the box according to the color on the paper. But after I saw again there were two papers in front of which there were two red paper, so I entered the ballot paper wrongly. I put the presidential election paper in the DPD RI box. and after realizing I also reported to the committee there, As a result the box was reopened by the committee and the paper was moved to the right place, it was a shame for me, enough people understand because it was the first time I made a general election. troublesome committee there hehe. And I hope that any elected president and vice presidential candidate I can bring the Indonesian state more advanced, more prosperous, and can provide employment opportunities for unemployed people, hopefully not just giving promises.

for Animals

There are two main groups of people today who are against how we treat animals. The first group believes that killing animals is the same as murder. Some believe that people who eat animals should go to prison. They accuse people who wear animal fur of murder and sometimes attack them. They think that all animals should be released from farms and homes and left to go where they want. The basis for their belief is that humans are also animals; they feel that the closer other animals are to humans, the worse it is to eat them. They believe we should treat animals differently from other living things like plants.

The second group accepts that we use animals for food, but they oppose anything that makes them suffer. This group feels that modern ways of raising animals are not suited to the animals. Animals should be raised in conditions like those in nature. For example, pigs once lived in forests and ate roots and plants. They are happiest when they have room to run around and some protection from subzero weather. But now, pigs are raised in very small areas and fed corn and soybeans. In this small space, they produce a lot of waste. This generates many problems for the pigs health.

Making an encyclopedia used to be a big job. First , a company used surveys to find out about new topics in different fields.Then, the company hired experts defined new ideas and terms and explained  their topics.Editors read the pieces and made changes to the text. The pieces were put together in many volumes.

Finally, salespeople went from house to house to sell encyclopedia was the company’s property.

Then in 2001, Wikipedia caused a major shift Wikipedia doesnt’t depend on sales. It asks people to give money, and those contributions pay for everything . Instead of experts, Wikipedia allows the users to write about anything. Instead of editors, the users correct any mistake they see. The encyclopedia company  uses the law to protect its texts; Wikipedia gives everyone the legal right to copy uts texts. The debate today is whether the changes caused by Wikipedia are good for society or not. Most people are happy to use Wikipedia for free. But are they aware that many people have lost paid work because of this? Wikipedia caused many encyclopedia companies to go out of business. Is this a good thing? Wikipedia has caused a big change in one industry.

SKIMMING

Skimming is a quick reading technique to find the main thoughts of a writing. When skimming, we usually don't read words per word. One of the uses, for example, is to determine some articles, articles, or certain good or not, what we need to read in more detail after we know what the content is.

How to Skim

1.Read the first and last paragraph

2.Read headings, subheadings, titles, subtitles, and illustrations

3.Read the first sentence of every paragraph

4.Skimming works well with dates, names and places

5.Don't read every word or every sentence

SCANNING

Scanning is a quick reading technique to find certain information in a reading quickly and accurately

HOW TO SCAN

Don't try to read every word. Instead let your eyes move quickly across the page until you find what you are looking for

1. First look at how the author organizes his information

2. Look for bold faces, italics, or different sized fonts

3.The author may also put key information in the margins of pages

           Skimming is reading a text quickly to get a general idea of meaning. It can be contrasted with scanning, which is reading in order to find specific information.
